Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko Review

A huge thanks to Progresso and My Blog Spark! They gave me an amazing  opportunity to review Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko as well as an autographed copy of chef Chiarello's new cookbook: Michael Chiarello's Bottega. I used the Panko on boneless, skinless chicken breasts. It was delicious! The breading was nice and crunchy. Most bread crumbs end up all soggy! The lemon pepper flavor was perfect. It tasted just as good reheated the next day!. I have three little ones (4,3,1). Getting them to eat new things can be a pain. They all inhaled it! I couldn't believe it. We are defiantly going to put Panko on our shopping list. My husband cant wait until we can try it on fish. All in all a big thumbs up from me.

Whether frying, baking or broiling, this culinary superstar adds a flavorful crunch to create simple, savory recipes. Made from the soft, tender centers of the bread, Progresso Lemon Pepper Panko combines the perfect crunch with effortless flavor to give any dish that extra punch. The large, flaky crumb has a coarser texture than traditional bread crumbs, delivering a lighter, crunchier coating or topping.

A chef known for his emphasis on creating delicious dishes with fresh, premium ingredients, Chef Michael Chiarello uses panko as his go-to bread crumb for a crunch that won’t quit. An Emmy-award winning TV chef and cookbook author, Chef Chiarello is the tastemaker behind Bottega Napa Valley Restaurant, NapaStyle and Chiarello Family Vineyards, and appears on The Cooking Channel and Top Chef Masters only on Bravo.

Chef Chiarello is helping cooks everywhere use Progresso’s panko to make flavorful, flawless recipes including Crispy Seafood Salad, Mama Chiarello's Stuffed Eggplant and Turkey Scallopini and Squash Ravioli with Cranberry Brown Butter.

Visit the Progresso website for additional recipes, tips for cooking with panko, video and a coupon for $1 off any panko flavor.

“Panko has been a major part of some of my best crunchy dishes for years,” says Chef Chiarello. “It’s exciting to bring those dishes home, where some of the best dining memories are made. To me that’s what cooking is all about – sharing meals with your friends and family, and the memories you get to keep for a lifetime.”

Additionally, be sure to check out the Progresso's Wine & Dine with Chef Michael Chiarello Sweepstakes. Now through December 31st, participants can enter for the chance to win a trip for two to Napa Valley to attend the Spring Bud Break Party, an annual dinner and wine tasting event taking place on May 7, 2011. In addition to two tickets to the party, the grand prize also includes roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations. Visit http://www.progressobroth.com/ for the sweepstakes rules and entry form.

Disclosure: Information, Panko, and cookbook were all given to me from General Mills through MyBlogSpark. This did not effect my review in anyway. I only give honest reviews.

Halloween Ideas

A digital picture of a candy apple, taken by L...Image via Wikipedia

I am looking for some Halloween crafts to do with the kids.  Crafts geared toward 3-5 years old. Crafts are one of their favorite things to do.. Is there any good links or ones you've done in the past? What about cool snack Halloween recipe's the kids can help make? We love anything hands on! Is there any preschool stuff that they can learn with the Halloween theme. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Lord,

Please help all the good guys.
Thank you for my family.
Thank you for my posters.
I have been good all day.
Your name is true.
You love everybody.

A&E Presents: Teach Tony Danza-Real Life Drama In The Classroom

A&E TV presents TEACH TONY DANZA. Danza struggles to make an unexpected and dramatic career shift but he’s also giving back to the community by teaching 10th grade English at an inner-city high school. The school is a true mix of different socio-economic classes among the students – challenging him to find ways to connect with students across a variety of backgrounds. It’s a tough crowd….will he succeed in being a positive role model for these kids?

The seven episode series premieres on Friday, October 1st at 10PM/9C.

Synopsis:
Long before his iconic acting career, which includes roles in “Taxi” and “Who’s The Boss,” Tony Danza received a degree in History Education. During the 2009-2010 school year, he took on his most challenging and rewarding role yet as he stepped into the classroom as a full-time teacher at Philadelphia’s Northeast High School . “Teach: Tony Danza” follows the first year-teacher as he instructs a 10th-grade English class with 26 students in back-to-back 45-minute periods.

The series will look at the challenges Danza faced and the rewards he experienced as a first-year high school teacher. Under the watchful eye of Northeast Principal Linda Carroll and in-classroom teaching coach David Cohn, Danza applied incredible creativity and ceaseless dedication in his day-to-day tasks of planning lessons and executing them in the classroom, administering quizzes and exams, grading homework, engaging in small learning communities with other faculty, and meeting with parents.

Upcoming episodes -

“BACK TO SCHOOL” - Friday, October 1 at 10/9C

Mr. Danza arrives at Northeast High School in Philadelphia and meets most of the faculty, including his teaching advisor, David Cohn, and ball-busting principal, Linda Carroll, who warns Mr. Danza that if he screws up, he’s out. On the first day of school, he meets his diverse class of students, but soon learns that teaching is harder than he realized when one student questions whether or not Mr. Danza is qualified to be teaching anything. And in an attempt to bond with two of his students on the football team, he becomes an assistant coach. He then realizes he knows far less about coaching football than teaching English and questions whether or not he made a mistake becoming a teacher.

“TESTED” - Friday, October 8 at 10/9C

After half the class fails their first quiz on “Of Mice and Men,” Mr. Danza fears that most of his students aren’t doing their work. As a result, he risks legal repercussions when he denies three of his “special needs” students the use of the resource room because he thinks they’re being lazy. And to make matters worse, Mr. Danza’s brightest student wants to drop out of his English class because he isn’t being challenged enough. Pushed to the limit, Tony breaks down in tears.

Wordless Wednesday: Emptying Toy Box is Hard Work

Kids were playing and then I noticed it was quiet. We all know what can happen when its quiet. I got lucky no trouble was being made. When I went to check on them and this is what I found.

(The boys were in their room playing Lego's). An almost empty toy box and Lil mama fast asleep in the middle of it all. Who knew emptying a toy box was such hard work!!!!!!!!

Everyday Minerals- Eyeshadow Product Review

So you can understand my review better let me first tell you a little more about myself. I am addicted to eyeshadow! Its way cheaper than shoes and purses. I am a mom of three under five so my time is very limited. Even though my days are crazy busy I still like to feel good about the way I look. I believe a little bit of makeup can go a long way. Even if you only have a few minutes you can but a little on and look and feel great! All of us moms love looking and feeling great especially when it only takes a few minutes.

A little about Everyday Minerals ......

1) Being healthy. That means taking care of my skin by using all-natural

products that are actually good for it! That's why Carina started this mineral

makeup company.

2) Saving money. I am not going to pay 25-40 bucks on foundation. Period.

Our products are ridiculously inexpensive. That's also why Carina started this

mineral makeup company. Women shouldn¹t have to pay a premium for

looking stunning.

3) Thinking globally in everyday actions. As a woman and mother with

a daughter, women’s issues are very important to me. At Everyday

Minerals, we believe that women’s issues are the moral battleground of

this century. As such, we recently launched our Everyday Forward

mission, in which all proceeds from a designated product go to a

selected woman’s charity, such as Kiva.org, Womenforwomen.org,

Care.org, and Globalliving.org . One day every woman in the world will

be given the love, dignity, and appreciation they deserve to fulfill

their gifts and dreams.

4) No Animal Testing Promise

*info above was given to me by Everyday Minerals

Everyday Minerals sent me four eye shadows to try out (Smokey Pink, Lip Lock, Hot Chocolate, and in the Garden).

I already love that it is a mineral eyeshadow. I love stuff that you can wear that wont harm your skin. This product did not cause any breakouts! It was very easy to use. It stayed on all day. I'm talking chasing three kids around the house, cleaning, errand running, cooking, ALL DAY! The colors are very light and neutral. Nice for working moms, going on errands, and dinner with the hubby. I would like to see a few more bold colors! I love subtle pretty popping colors but ever now and then I want to go bold. This product really exceeded my expectations! I think I'm going to have to try the foundation. Everyday minerals I love your eyeshadow and I love what your about.

(I did not get paid to say any of these things. I did receive free product to review. This did not change my opinion of the products. The words written are my honest opinion of the products/site. I only give honest reviews.)

I want I want I want I want

Having three little kids I hear the phrase I want a lot. Mom I want. But, mom I just want. Please mom I want. Sometimes there is an added whine with it. Or the added puppy dog look. Mom wants too but she never gets to tell anybody about it. As a mom I know that wants are wants and that needs come first. Then when there is a little extra for wants it usually goes to the kiddies. It makes you feel good to give them something a little extra every now and then, and its totally OK to sacrifice your wants for theirs. Well virtual world, I know you get it so I can tell you my wants without feeling bad.

Mommy wants

I want to be able to catch all those important memories of the kids, family, and friends. My camera just wont record long enough. I want to make those memories last forever!

My three little ones can make a mess. Our vacuum is more than a few years old. You have to go over and over and over it again to get it to suck anything up. It takes forever to vacuum. I am a mom of three, I don't have time to waste.

I have had three kids back to back (ages 4,3,1). My weight has gone up and down. After the last one I have worked my butt off to get rid of all the extra baby weight. Yea medium shirts and size 7 jeans!!!!We aren't having any more kids so the weight will stay off. I am tired of wearing my old baggy clothes. It doesn't make you feel or look good to wear clothes that don't fit.  This want may just move to the need section soon.

Mom wants, mom wants, mom wants! Its OK that these probably wont happen, but its OK to dream right?

I'm an Auntie

I'm An auntie!!!! It has a lot of mixed feelings that go with it. The situation is really complicated and not really my business to tell. So, not a lot I can really say about it. Babies are gifts from God. I love babies! I am really hoping that no matter how complicated the situation is I can still be apart of the babies life. She is so precious. The feeling of holding her and know that she is my niece was really awsome!

Welcome to the world Melannnie. I already love you and am really hoping to stay apart of your life.
